The Diversity Forum Imparts “How To’s” about Diversity & Inclusion Practices That Keep Employees Eng

Jul 02, 2010 The Diversity Forum will provide another opportunity for HR professionals, business owners, diversity/inclusion practitioners, and business leaders to learn and exchange ideas about successful best practices that incorporate diversity and result in engagement. On Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 7:30 am the non-profit organization will host “Diversity and Inclusion Practices to Sustain Employee Engagement”. Joe Machicote, Vice President of Talent Management & HR Services at Lance, Inc. and Chairman of The Diversity Forum’s Board of Advisors, will deliver a keynote address that places emphasis on the leaders of organizations being culturally competent.

“Company culture is built at the top. The items that the CEO and senior management deem as core values are what the employees adopt.” said Michelle Fish, Founder of The Diversity Forum. “There is nothing more powerful and more inspiring than a culturally competent leader that can gain respect from their entire workforce; while simultaneously impacting engagement.”

A panel discussion will follow the presentation and afford attendees an opportunity to interact and learn actual best practices that have been implemented at a number of organizations. The panel will be comprised of the following:

  • Nicholas Beamon, Principal at Whitehead Associates, Inc. (Moderator)
  • Eric Watson, VP, Diversity and Inclusion at Food Lion, LLC
  • Nicole Dean, VP, Corporate HR & Chief Diversity Officer at Belk, Inc.
  • Beverly Grant-Turner, Business & Community Leader

Networking begins at 7:30 am and the cost to attend is $25 per person, which includes breakfast. The event will be held at the Hilton Charlotte Executive Park at 5624 West Park Drive, Charlotte, NC 28217. Early registration is strongly encouraged as space is limited.
